The Observer’s Meridian is an ongoing collaborative project by Catarina Coelho and Jordan Kessler. The project explores the permutations between photography, printmaking and drawing, connecting them with three-dimensional structures. The aim of this project is to explore new typologies and strategies within the traditional mediums in order to survey landscape, and attempt to question geographical conventions. The project is divided in three parts: The Observer’s Meridian – a piece that inquires about the conventional structure of landscape –, Before, Beyond and Across – cyanotypes (waves on paper) –, and Mimesis – a series of photographs, prints and drawings. This project has the support of Pitch Black Editions.
